The Breadwinner is a 2017 animated drama film by Cartoon Saloon directed by Nora Twomey and executive produced by Mimi Polk Gitlin and Angelina Jolie. The film received a wide release on November 17, 2017.

DEAD PIGEON

This animation was created as part of the Central St Martins collaboration with St Thomas Hospital - The Old Operating Theatre Museum. The brief was to animate a story inspired by an object selected from the museum and to include an interaction with a character of our creation from the 16-17th century.!
My object originates from a medical practice by Dr.John Hall (1632) and was adapted by the hospital to cure poor people who could not afford to be seen by physicians. The film is inspired by the true story of Dr. John Hall, the son-in-law of William Shakespeare, who contracted a deadly fever. During this time he discovered that by applying a dead pigeon to the patients feet would reduce the temperature and cure the illness.
The film was created in photoshopCC, Background and art work in water-colour/ink.
